Fuchsia

Fuchsias are perfect for hanging baskets because their particular flower shape looks best when given the opportunity to hang. Their bright flowers will also attract hummingbirds! Fuchsia plants also prefer shade, making them easy to maintain in a hanging basket.

Lantana

Lantanas have a very unique look with small clusters of small flowers of different colors. They can spread easily, which makes them a wonderful addition to any hanging basket because they will spread to hang over the edges. Lantanas do however prefer sun, so they should be planted in a hanging basket with other sun-loving plants.

Petunia

Petunias are perfect for hanging baskets, as they can spread easily and overflow over the basket giving them a wonderfully lush look. Petunias are great on their own in a basket or blended with some greenery or other flowers. Hummingbirds are also attracted to petunias!

Ferns

Ferns are the perfect plant to add some greenery to your hanging basket. Their long leaves will hang nicely over the edges of the basket and look nice grown on their own or accompanying flowers.

Pansies

Pansies come in a variety of colours, so they will make beautiful hanging baskets planted on their own or combined with other flowers. They do prefer shade, so should be planted with other shade-loving plants such as fuchsias.

Sweet Alyssum

Sweet Alyssum are wonderful clusters of small blossoms, usually white, pink, or purple in color. They are a wonderful filler plant and will hang nicely over a basket, so these flowers look best planted with one or two other plants.

Strawberries

Strawberries can grow well in hanging baskets and is a good option to grow your own fruit with limited space! To maximize fruit production, strawberries should be planted on their own in a hanging basket and receive plenty of sun.
