Is stump grinding necessary?
Stump grinding can leave you with more spaceStump grinding
When you get a tree removed, it’s a good idea to get the stump removed as well to give the area the best possible finished look. Leftover stumps look untidy and prevent the area from being used efficiently. Stumps can take over 50 years to brake down naturally, so if the stump is not ground out you will be left with it for a long time.
Stump grinding is done with a large machine which has powerful rotating blades that cut into the stump and shred it into wood chips. Usually the stump is ground down to ground or below ground level. If there is a hole where the stump was, you can fill it with soil or with the leftover wood chips. Stump grinding also ensures the tree will not grow back.
Where to get a stump grinder
You can rent a small stump grinder yourself, but usually hiring professionals is preferred.
Renting a stump grinder will typically require from you: money, time, an appropriately sized vehicle to transport the grinder, physical strength to load and unload the grinder, and personal safety gear. On top of all that you then have to do the actual grinding yourself as well. For these reasons we strongly recommend hiring professionals to ensure the process is done correctly by experienced workers.
